For the second time in its mission so far, the ESA/NASA Solar Orbiter spacecraft has flown through the tail of a comet. A mission that includes RoCS - Rosseland Centre for Solar Physics.

Today sees the publication of a wealth of results from the spacecraft’s cruise phase. That's not bad for a mission yet to have entered its main science phase. RoCS - Rosseland Centre for Solar Physics is part of the mission.

Her name is Maria Guadalupe Barrios Sazo, but she goes by Lupe. She has come all the way from Guatemala to work as a Research Software Engineer at RoCS - Rosseland Centre for Solar Physics.

Maria Guadalupe Barrios Sazo, nyansatt ved RoCS - Rosseland Center for Solar Physics, har kommet helt fra Guatemala for å jobbe som senioringeniør. Det var mye som lokket henne til RoCS.

Daniel Jakobsson er tilbake på RoCS og SolarAlma-prosjektet etter å ha gjort ferdig Masteroppgaven sin samme sted i sommer. Arbeidsoppholdet støttes av Rosseland Visitor Program.

This summer, the space probe Solar Orbiter took the closest pictures ever taken of the sun. The images will help researchers understand the sun better. Professor Mats Carlsson at RoCS - Rosseland Center for Solar Physics, UiO, leads the Norwegian research group's work with Solar Orbiter.

I sommer tok romsonden Solar Orbiter de nærmeste bildene som er tatt av sola noen gang. Bildene skal hjelpe forskerne å forstå sola bedre. Professor Mats Carlsson ved RoCS – Rosseland senter for solfysikk, UiO, leder den norske forskningsgruppens arbeide med Solar Orbiter.
