Academic interests

My main research area is focused on the multi-wavelength study of solar jets with space-borne instruments, i.e. Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS), and Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory (STEREO). In addition with space-borne data, I am working on the the ground based observations in optical filters for photospheric and chromospheric study. IRIS with its high spatial and temporal resolution brings exceptional diagnostics of the two dimensional dynamics of solar activity in the solar chromosphere (surge) and the corona (jets). Hence I along with the scientific collaborators are focusing on the imaging and spectroscopy analysis of solar jets with the IRIS instrument data. Presently, we are working for combining the observations from the space-borne satellites with the high resolution Swedish 1m Solar Telescope observations.

Background

I did my B.Sc. (2012) and M.Sc. (2014) from Kumaun University, Nainital, India with Physics as a major subject.  I joined as a Ph.D. candidate in August 2015 with Prof. Ramesh Chandra in the Department of Physics, DSB Campus, Kumaun University, Nainital, India. During my Ph.D. I worked on the  "Study of Solar Jets and Related Flares" with different space-borne and ground based instruments.
