NoRMAS24 - Nordic Radio and Millimeter Astronomy Symposium

Join us for the first NoRMAS meeting aimed at fostering collaboration and advancing research in the field of astronomy at long wavelengths, i.e infrared, (sub)millimeter and radio.

Motivation Dates Program Participant list Registration SOC/contact

After a long break since the days of radio astronomy at the former Oslo Solar Observatory, research at long wavelengths picked up interest again with the advent of the Atacama Pathfinder Experiment (APEX) and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). As the research activities have now expanded to a range of other current and future observatories and research topics, it is the right time to reach out and connect to our colleagues in Norway and our Nordic neighbour countries.

The meeting will span 2 half-days and will be hosted at the Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics. Everybody involved or interested in science at long wavelengths is welcome to join.

Motivation

  • Networking and Awareness: Engage with colleagues to learn about their current research projects and discover emerging groups in the field.
  • International Collaboration: Explore opportunities for international collaboration.

  • Future Observatories: Discuss recent developments and future opportunities with respect to new observing facilities.

  • Training and Knowledge Transfer: Newcomers can benefit from insights into ALMA proposal preparation.
