A Brief Review of Dark Matter Candidates
The standard model of cosmology has been very successful at describing a wide range of phenomena in our universe, yet it remains ignorant about the identity of one of its main components; dark matter. The number of candidates for this unknown substance is almost mind-numbing, with widely different predictions about its properties and characteristics. In this talk I will therefore consider some of these models, especially what motivates them as dark matter candidates, and what kind of observations we can use to constrain their parameters.
