Effective Field Theory of Dark Energy: A Review
The study of cosmic acceleration and understanding its nature is nowadays an important branch in the field of cosmology. I would like to review some of the ideas put forward to explain this unsettling phenomenon. I will present the so-called effective field theory of dark energy approach following the recent review arXiv:1907.03150. Starting with some motivations for its development, I would like to go through its theoretical construction, explore the novel predictions it has given rise to and finish by presenting observational constraints obtained on various modified gravity models.
