First get Today View on your home screen in Landscape mode by swiping to the right.
Then Edit and set "Keep on Home Screen"
You can keep Today View on your Home screen next to your apps when iPad is in landscape orientation.
Open Today View, swipe up, then tap Edit below the Today View widgets.
Turn on Keep on Home Screen, then tap Done.
The right Widget is Batteries, I placed it on top after +
Then when the Todays view are seen just use the pen on the iPad.
