Downtime on some compute nodes and workstations 27/8

We need to take down power on about half the power capacity to the server room tomorrow to get 3 new UPSes installed.

So we need to reduce the power load, but will try to keep as much as possible running.

Compute nodes:

If you have jobs running on the clusters that do not need to be running tomorrow before lunch, please stop the jobs.

All compute nodes that do not have jobs running tomorrow morning at 06.45 will be shut down

We may need to shut down additional compute nodes if the load is still to high, but only if it is really needed.

Workstations:

All Mac workstations are on the affected power supplies and do not have dual power, so they will be shut down

Almost all linux workstations will be up.

Other:

The laptop backup service will be down.

We will start shutdown tomorrow at 06.45

The work on the power system starts at 09.30 and is expected to finish at 11.30 or earlier.

We will start bringing up the nodes and workstations immediately after power is back.

We are sorry for the short notice, but it is important that we get this done as soon as possible.
