Abstract
The aim of my talk is to demonstrate how advanced stellar models can be verified and tuned through comparison with observations. In the first example I will present the magnetic Doppler imaging technique applied to a chemically peculiar star 53 Cam. The second example is dedicated to an iterative tuning of 3D hydrodynamical models of Betelgeuse based on comparison of spectral synthesis with the high-resolution observations of this star.
