Abstract
Turbulence plays important roles in many naturally occurring or industrial processes. Some resent results on the possible importance of turbulence on one biological process – the bottom part of the aquatic food chain – will be presented. The results are derived on the basis of an analysis of data both from laboratory experiments and numerical modeling.
