Abstract
Blast waves generated from high explosives may lead to large destruction on buildings and personnel. In this talk we will look closer at some typical problems relevant for the Norwegian Defence Estates Agency, and present results from both experimental tests and numerical simulations. High speed cameras give unique films, and are used to illustrate both small scale and full scale tests. The films give valuable information on how to protect against such events. Numerical simulations of explosive events are challenging. We will discuss the explosive model used, and compare our numerical results against pressure sensor recordings and other published data. We find good agreement between numerical and experimental results for a number of different geometries.
