Abstract:
What is the origin of volcanic eruptions? How have landscapes formed? Where do natural resources come from?
Olivier Galland, an Earth Scientist at UiO, will present a 9-month cycling expedition in the Andes Mountains he conducted with Caroline Sassier (UiO). The aim of their journey was to use adventure as a pedagogical medium to capture public interest on Earth Sciences. They thus visited spectacular geological localities in the fantastic, remote geoscapes of the Andes. Through a balanced presentation between adventure and geology, Olivier introduce the some concepts of Earth sciences and their implications for our society.
