Fredagskollokvium:  Results from the surface of Mars - was Mars once habitable?

Morten Bo Madsen, Associate Professor, Astrophysics and Planetary Science, Niels Bohr Institute

Our knowledge about the evolution of the Martian surface has increased significantly during the last decade as a result of numerous missions visiting the planet. The talk will include examples of how surface missions have provided very detailed results, serving as "ground truth" for more crude observations from orbit. Also some Scandinavian contributions to coming exploration and preparation for human visits will be described.
