Fredagskollokvium: Particle Dark Matter at a Crossroads

In a recent Nature article Bertone&Tait argue that there is a „growing sense of crisis in the DM community”. Indeed, despite decades of experimental effort no convincing signal of dark matter particle has been found yet and the standard theoretical paradigms seem to be losing their charm. In this talk I will try to address the current situation in the dark matter theory and explore a bit new challenges, as well as interesting new phenomena, that emerge when going beyond the standard WIMP paradigm. I will particularly highlight some of the aspects that have been recently studied at our group at UiO.
