Over the next few weeks DEEP will provide a virtual space for all DEEP PhD students to meet up and talk about writing. The point of this virtual writing retreat is to improve your writing skills, and to motivate each other. Above all, we want to create a constructive interactive space for everyone to enjoy whilst working from the home office.

The Research School DEEP and the Ivar Giæver Geomagnetic Laboratory will offer the very successful intensive course on Earth Magnetism and Paleogeography again in October 2019. Taught by Pavel V. Computer programming is a core skill for geophysicists. The overall goal of GEOV350 is to provide the students with a good understanding of computational geodynamics. The course will be taught the second or third week in May 2019.

DEEP welcomes all members to the third DEEP General Assembly 6-8 March 2019! We will start with a PhD day arranged by and for the PhD students at the University of Tromsø. In the evening all participants  and our four key speakers Whitney Behr, Clare Warren, Sumit Chakraborty and Jörg Hermann will gather for the assembly at Sommarøy Arctic Hotel.
