A Note From Our Director

DEEP director Stephanie Werner

In 2015 we received funding for this research school, which aims at establishing an internationally recognized research training environment for PhD candidates and other young scientists in the realm of dynamical evolution of the Earth and planets. We hope that this school provides a facilitator for the transmission of in-depth knowledge in these respective study fields, as well as for interdisciplinary knowledge in the dynamics of a planetary body, coupling the different spheres from core to atmosphere, by numerical, laboratory and observational experiments.

I am very glad that you have decided to join this school and I hope that your interests and interaction will lead this school to an academic training center promoting scientific discussions at an inter- and trans-disciplinary level, thereby extending the necessary skills to play an active role in the tremendously important discussion on predicting and mitigating of natural disasters, natural resources, and the general societal interest of studies of Earth and planets.

Looking forward to fruitful meetings.
