The oceans play several key roles in climate. Here we will have a former lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC/FNs Klimapanel) give a whirlwind tour of ocean changes and their relevance for the IPCC. Then she will proceed to discuss ocean currents in general and approaches to understanding these. The main focus in the latter part of the talk will be on the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans.
