Background
I am starting as a postdoctoral fellow at the CEES in March 2024. I will combine contemporary and paleo-genomic datasets of threespine sticklebacks from marine and freshwater ecosystems to investigate the relationship between demographic history, mutation load, and distribution of fitness effects.
For my PhD at the University of Hamburg, I explored the causes of recent hybridization in hybrid zones and how genomic patterns vary among populations and species. I was able to track hybridization dynamics in Daphnia populations over several decades and identify distinct genomic landscapes by sequencing whole genomes from resting eggs.
