Are you interested in commercialising your research? This intensive 5-day course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to start an R&D company, see your science deployed in the real world and maybe even get rich in the process.

Writing a short pitch is often the best start to any kind of science communication. To help you get on with this, we aim this workshop at defining your message, goal and target audience. But we will also cover some ways to formulate your message clearly and explain why this is so important. This workshop helps you to communicate with your peers, but also with subsidy organizations, policy makers or a wider audience. At the end of the workshop, you’ll have a short pitch about your research.

Join us for a webinar, focusing on licensing within bioinformatics. In this session, we will review licensing for both software and data in bioinformatics research. Following the success from the summer school in 2022, BioInnovation Institute, in collaboration with CBS Executive, is running another Summer School in 2023 to increase the understanding of innovation and commercialization among life science researchers.

This summer school will give you the opportunity to perform cutting edge research with the world's leading researchers in their fields.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning approaches are often considered black boxes, i.e. as a type of algorithms that accomplish learning tasks but cannot explain how. However, as AI/deep learning is increasingly absorbed as adopted for accomplishing cognitive tasks for human beings, it is becoming important that the deep learning models are understandable by humans, such that artificial and human intelligence can co-exist and collaborate. In critical tasks such as deriving, from given data, a correct medical diagnosis and prognosis, collaboration between artificial and human intelligence are imperative so that the suggestions or decisions from artificial intelligence are both more accurate and more trustworthy.

Communication is key - and science is no exception. We can communicate our research via written words, sounds, and visuals. Since a picture gets processed 60.000 times faster than written words, the use of visuals is the most effective way of making your audience understand your message - whether it is an oral presentation, a poster, or a paper. This course aims to teach scientists how to create and present an award-winning poster, increasing the impact of their research.
