How to navigate the scientific publishing landscape

This workshop will give you tools for identifying scientific publication channels, navigate publishing agreements and self-archiving policies. You will do practical exercises, explore examples, and have insightful discussions with your peers.

By participating in this workshop, you will learn where to go and how to find information on:

  • which scientific journals to publish in within your specific field
  • if your journal of interest is a good quality journal
  • if this journal is in alignment with your funder’s requirements
  • what the journal’s self-archiving policy is
  • if this journal is included in UiO’s open access publishing agreements, and if it is, how to use it

  • Target group: PhD candidates, Postdoctoral fellows and researchers

Lecturer

Dr. Heidi Konestabo has a PhD in biology, and is a subject specialist at the Science Library, focusing on education and research support in the biosciences.

Edina Pozer is a subject specialist in geosciences, has a background in geology, and mainly works with research support, Cristin and education.
