- How to choose the right venue for your work (and learn when this choice must be made)
- What you should do when writing the article to increase the chance of publication
- How to write a cover letter
- How to 'decode' and understand the response from reviewers
- What to do to respond to reviewers – and how to show what you have done to the Editor
- What to do if you strongly disagree with one of the reviewers

We will be sharing some of our best advice and our own failure stories on how to get stuff published. If you want to avoid making common mistakes in the process, increase the likelihood of a smooth review process, and even try to publish in some of the best-ranked journals in your field – this will be time well spent!

Øistein Anmarkrud and Marte Blikstad-Balas are both professors who review, edit, and publish in highly ranked academic journals in educational sciences. They are both very fond of the academic ideals behind peer review, and strongly believe that peer review will make any paper better. Together they experience in both quantitative and quantitative methods, and they are responsible for the PhD course in Research Design at the Faculty of Educational Sciences.
