What can Student IT offer you?

Student IT aim towards answering your questions relating to IT services at The University of Oslo (UiO). We can get you a new password if you have forgotten the one you got (remember to bring your ID with you), or find out why your account is not working.

We can help you with problems relating to your computer and Microsoft Office.

We can help you connect your laptop or mobile devices to UiO wireless network. In addition we can help students getting access to the UiO software database.

We help you with installation of required software for digital exam. We also provide relevant information to technical inquiries related to digital examination.

Student IT is in charge of maintaining the computer rooms at The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MN). In case the Student IT desk is unstaffed, you can contact us by email and we will respond to you as soon as possible.

Scanning

There are scanners avaliable at Abelstua in Niels Henrik Abels hus, and at the Science Library in Vilhelm Bjerknes' hus. If you need assistance please contact Student IT or the librarians.

Computer rooms

Student IT maintains the computer rooms, which are available for students at MN. You will find information about the computer rooms in the menu on the right side.

Help with your laptop

We can help you with the installation of software on your computer.

The Laptop Loan service

The Mathematics and natural science faculty has laptops with Fedora Linux available for loan from the circulation desk at Vilhelm Bjerknes hus 2nd floor. You can access and fill out the loan agreement form which you can find here in order to borrow a laptop from the library.
