I look very much forward to be part of the PharmaSafe group. I obtained my Master’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Oslo, Norway, in 2000 and my PhD in internal medicine from the University of Uppsala, Sweden, in 2012. Since 2000 I have been working with Smerud Medical Research, a Contract Research Organization. During these 20+ years I have held several different positions, primarily related to regulatory requirements for the clinical development of pharmaceutical products and local regulatory activities for the post-marketing phase. Safety monitoring and reporting is key in the entire lifecycle of pharmaceuticals. As a trained Eudravigilance user I am actively involved in the individual case safety reporting for products in development. Further, I am involved in the writing of annual Development Safety Update Reports (DSUR). I hope that these practical pharmacovigilance experiences combined with the regulatory knowledge can be useful in the PharmaSafe projects.
