I am Rajesh Shigdel from Nepal, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Kathmandu University, Nepal and I moved to Norway to pursue a master’s degree in public health from the University of Tromsø in 2010. My doctoral research focused on osteoporosis and fractures, utilizing data from the population based Tromsø study. Following that, I spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at NTNU, Trondheim, studying the association of cardiorespiratory fitness with myocardial infarction, anxiety, and depression using data from the HUNT study.
Recently, I completed a postdoctoral tenure at the University of Bergen, where I contributed to the Human Oral Microbiome Project. This project aimed to explore the associations of the oral microbiome with lung functions, asthma, COPD, and sleep-related symptoms by integrating epidemiological and omics data.
I am passionate about learning new methodologies and tackling statistical challenges in data analysis. I thrive in collaborative environments and am eager to work with colleagues on diverse projects to apply and enhance my existing knowledge. Over the past decade, my focus has been on projects utilizing data from health registries and cohort studies. I mainly use R for data analysis, but I am also familiar with using SPSS, SAS, STATA, and Python. I am excited to join the PharmaSafe research group.
I look forward to implementing and learning new research methods, including causal inference, machine learning techniques, and different data science skills.
I am enthusiastic about becoming a valuable group member and anticipate meeting you soon. In my leisure time, I enjoy hiking, exploring new places, and immersing myself in the beauty of nature.
