I am Sara Salvadori, a master student from Italy.

Since I was a child, I have shown a strong interest and inclination for scientific subjects, that led me to the choice of enrolling in the Faculty of Statistics of the University of Florence. I graduated there in 2022 with a thesis focused on the analysis of the physical and psychological response of patients with eating disorders to the residential treatment of a specialized centre in Italy.

This has given me the opportunity to approach epidemiology for the first time and has increased my interest in this matter, making it gradually evolve into a real passion.

That experience guided me in the choice related to the continuation of my studies: after finishing my bachelor’s degree, I enrolled in the master’s degree in Biostatistics at the University of Milano-Bicocca, which I currently attend. The program of the master’s degree has made me develop an interest in pharmacoepidemiology so strong that it pushed me to undertake an internship in this research field, bringing me into the PharmaSafe group.

During my stay I am going to work on a project entitled: "Time-dependent effect of prenatal antidepressant exposure on eating disorder symptoms in children at age 14 years".  I am delighted to be able to contribute to the research on this specific topic and I am grateful to the PharmaSafe group for giving me the opportunity to become part of their team and to live an experience that I am sure will enrich me both personally and professionally. I am looking forward to learning and collaborating with students and researchers in the PharmaSafe group.
