I am an Associate Professor and William Dawson Scholar in the Departments of Medicine and of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health, McGill University and a Senior Investigator at the Centre for Clinical Epidemiology of the Lady Davis Institute of the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, Canada.

My research interests include pharmacoepidemiology and drug safety, knowledge synthesis, and the epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. I use large, population-based databases to study the utilization, effectiveness, and safety of commonly prescribed medications, with a particular interest in cardiometabolic conditions (hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes), including studies of drugs used to treat them and cardiometabolic outcomes.  I am also interested in the intersection between pregnancy and cardiometabolic conditions.

During my International Alliance for PharmacoGenetic Epidemiology Excellence (iAPOGEE) Visiting Fellowship, I will collaborate with members of the PharmaSafe Research Group on a methodological study examining the impact of paternal risk factors on studies of maternal prescription drug use and congenital malformations among women with type 2 diabetes.
