Writing a student textbook

In a few days, I will get 600 textbook pages to proof read together with my colleagues Bente Gammelgaard and Trine Grønhaug Halvorsen. We have prepared the second edition of our Wiley textbook “Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry” which will be available from February 2019. 

The last year, I have spent more than 600 hours on this, and I know that Bente and Trine have invested many additional hours. This is not time investment for money. Although we get royalty, textbooks are recycled among students, and they probably download free pdf copies in short time… It is, however, time investment for scientific understanding and enthusiasm. Students need a timely textbook in pharmaceutical analytical chemistry to be motivated, to get the understanding, and as part of their curriculum as pharmacist. Motivation and understanding is also the backbone for entering our research laboratory…
