In February 2022, Thomas Boissiere-O’Neill from the University of Bordeaux, was invited to work on a project on the risk of miscarriages. Thomas sought to quantify the risk of miscarriage following exposure to different antibiotics during pregnancy while adjusting for key confounders, the competing risk of induced abortions and indication bias. Four Norwegian population-based health registries were used: the Norwegian Prescription Database (NorPD), the Medical Birth Registry of Norway (MBRN), the Norwegian Patient Registry (NPR), and the Norway Control and Payment of Primary Health Care Refunds (KUHR).
