The Student Association for Pharmaceutical Innovation (SFI)

The Student Association for Pharmaceutical Innovation (SFI) aims to promote innovation among students at the University of Oslo.

Lab Courses

In the fall of 2022, SFI started a pilot project in collaboration with ShareLab and the Growth House for Life Sciences. Through this collaboration, we offer various courses that provide hands-on experience in different areas of analytical chemistry. Courses such as HPLC, ELISA, and PCR have been organized, and students receive an approved certificate at the end of each course. These courses are comprehensive, allowing students to work independently to gain more confidence in analytical techniques. The course offerings are open and free for all members, with members having priority to enroll. Non-members can also participate in the courses with a one-time fee of 30 NOK. More information about membership can be found at: https://sio.no/foreninger/finn-din-forening?i=1&s=8879

Lab Projects

Students who wish to start a project or work on something innovative that requires lab space can do so through SFI and ShareLab. The goal of this offering is to encourage entrepreneurship among students and provide those with extra initiative an opportunity to further develop innovative ideas. We can provide a group of students with full access to a lab bench and equipment at ShareLab for working on independent projects alongside their studies. Students will also receive training in various lab techniques and equipment as needed, beyond what is covered in their studies. If you want to know more about ShareLab and access to the lab bench, do not hesitate to contact us for an informal conversation with our board.

Student Internship

In collaboration with the Student Association for Medical Innovation (SMI), we offer summer internships in companies for students in the disciplines of medicine, pharmacy, and chemistry. The goal of this program is to connect enthusiastic and engaged students with companies where they can apply their knowledge in new ways and gain valuable life and work experience. Through the internship, students have the opportunity to develop expertise in research, technology, and innovation.
