A brief tour through the axiverse

Kai Schmidt-Hoberg (DESY, Hamburg)

In these lectures we will discuss the underlying motivation for axions:
These hypothetical particles could address theoretical problems within the Standard Model of particle physics as well as serve as good dark matter candidates. After setting the stage we will then proceed to discuss possible ways to detect these feebly interacting particles from the cosmos, from the Sun, or even produced in the laboratory.

This event is part of the master lecture series organized by the Section for Theoretical Physics.
