Abstract.
The origins of Hilbert spaces in quantum theory is often a call for concern among new students. In this talk, I will outline an elementary construction of Hilbert space quantum mechanics, showcasing the difference between classical and quantum theory from the perspective of the wild jungle of algebraic quantum theory. If we're lucky, perhaps we even have time for some algebriac QFT!
