NORTEM (Oslo) User Meeting 2024

NORTEM is a nationally coordinated initiative by SINTEF, NTNU, and UiO supported by the INFRA program in the Research Council of Norway. The upcoming NORTEM (Oslo) user meeting is designed to foster collaboration, communication, and overall infrastructure success.

     Designed to promote knowledge exchange and networking opportunities, the event will feature:

Morning - Open Session (09:00 to 12:00):

  • 09:00 to 09:10 - Øystein Prytz (Professor, UiO): Opening remarks
  • 09:10 to 09:25 - Fredrik Sydow Hage (Associate Professor, UiO): The NORTEM II project layout
  • 09:25 to 10:10 - Manuel Reinhard (JEOL, Japan) will present the development of current techniques in the field of S/TEM (https://www.jeol.com/products/scientific/tem/JEM-ARM200F_NEOARM.php)
  • 10:10 to 10:30 - Patricia Almeida Carvalho (Senior Scientist, SINTEF): Highlights of TEM activities in SINTEF, Oslo.
  • 10:30 to 10:45 - Coffee Break
  • 10:45 to 11:15 - Andreas Rosnes (PhD Candidate, UiO): Probing Point Defects at Atomic Resolution with "Quantitative" STEM
  • 11:15 to 12:00 - Eva Bladt (DENS, Netherlands) will bring us up to speed in current in-situ capabilities (https://denssolutions.com/products/climate/nano-reactor/)

Lunch @ 12:00. 

  Afternoon - Closed Session (13:30 – 16:00):

  • An internal meeting will occur among core hands-on TEM users, focusing on workflow optimization, knowledge transfer, and competence building.
