The TEM lab is well equipped with sample preparation tools for cutting, grinding and ion milling samples. There is also easy access to glove box, furnaces, focus ion beam, and plasma cleaner.

- Different types of dimpler, saws, ultrasonic cutters and other tools for TEM specimen preparation.
- An Allied High Tech – MultiPrep™ Polishing System.
- An electropolisher.
- A Fishione 1010 plasma cleaner.
- A JEOL JIB 4500 FIB (not part of NORTEM).
