We have successfully completed the 10th 4DSpace Numerical Workshop! Between 16-20 September students from UiO and Kobe University met to Oslo and worked on joint projects to better understand measurements in space.
Three weeks ago we installed an All-Sky-Camera in Hornsund. The first photo of the northern lights was taken last night!

The position as PhD Research Fellowship in Plasma Physics and Technology is available at the Department of Physics. This project is related to studies of the dynamics of the large-scale currents (Birkeland currents) that couple the outer magnetosphere to the upper atmosphere (ionosphere). Application deadline 18. After its long and exciting mission, Rosetta spacecraft has landed on the comet 67P.
In the September students from Kobe University arrived in Oslo to study the interaction between the spacecraft and plasma together with students from UiO.

4DSpace has a long-term successful collaboration with Canadian universities. In early October, seven students from UiO visited the University of Calgary.
In the end of September seven master students from Kobe University arrived in Oslo to study the interaction between the rocket and ionospheric plasma together with students from UiO.
At the Space Expo at Youngstorget, Oslo (28.08-06.09) we gave three popular-science talks presenting our research. There were a lot of visitors and a successful event!
We are happy to share that within the last two weeks we had two invited talks at prestigious meetings XXXII ICPIG and AOGS2015, and won the poster prize!
Our project with the Institute for Space Research (IKI) of Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, Russia, has been granted!
