The NIFRO award for the best master thesis related to space technology and space industry was awarded during the Space Dinner 2016 to Timo A. Stein for this thesis on the low cost radiation monitor for nano satellites. After receaving the prize, Timo gave a talk entitled "Towards a CubeSat Ready radiation monitor: From Lab Prototype to Ballon Flight test".

Timo did his master thesis at NTNU together with the company Ideas. He now works at Ideas, where he continues the work on his radiation sensors, and he is doing industry-based PhD with UiO/4DSpace Strategic Research Initiative.
NIFRO is The Norwegian Forum for Space Industry that organizes all the major space related industry in Norway.
