Background

The Basic and Applied ThermoElectrics inititative was established in 2007 to organize a growing activity in thermoelectric materials. As such, Bate is not a single project, but a collaborative effort between several researchers and research groups encompassing many sub-projects. The team today consists of about 15 researchers, post docs, Phd- and master-students in chemistry, physics and materials science.

The mission of BATE is to participate in the international efforts to provide environmentally friendly and energy efficient heat-pumps and electricity generators through research emphasizing thermoelectric materials.
