Medical cancer imaging such as positron emission tomography (PET) provides 3D representations of the tumor. However, it is common to extract a single value only from the images (typically the maximum value) when linking the imaging data with treatment response, leaving the remaining intra-tumor information unused. The talk will discuss how to incorporate the 3D tumor information in a radiobiological framework to potentially improve the predictive strength of the imaging procedure.
