Faglige interesser

Materialvitenskap med fokus på halvledende materialer/halvlederfysikk. De siste årene har hovedfokus vært på diffusjons og kompleksdannelse av urenheter i sinkoksid. Dette er et materiale med mange potensielt veldig spennende egenskaper. Det er gjennomsiktig og samtidig elektrisk ledende og dermed en mulig erstatter for Indium Tin Oksid (ITO) som transperent ledene lag på f.eks solceller og flatskjermer.

Sinkoksid har generelt meget spennende optiske, pietzoelektriske og termoelektriske egenskaper. Lykkes man med å lage reproduserbart og stabilt p-type sinkoksid har det en stor fremtid i lysdioder og laserdioder i UV-enden av spekteret. Det betyr at det kan lages billige lysdioder som gir hvitt lys.

Har jobbet mye med teknikker som Secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS), FTIR, Positron annihilation spectroscopy (PAS) osv.

Jeg jobber også med NorFab (et storskala infrastrukturprosjekt), hvor vi ønsker å gjøre infrastrukturen ved UiO-MiNaLab tilgjengelig for alle brukere fra både akademia og næringsliv. Se www.norfab.no for mer informasjon.
