Honorary doctoral degree lecture with Irena Hajnsek

Professor Irena Hajnsek is nominated to an honorary doctorate at University of Oslo in 2024 (appointed by Geosciences), and on that occasion she will give a guest lecture at the Department of Geosciences on Monday 2 September. Everyone is welcome!

Guest lecture with Irena Hajnsek

The board at University of Oslo decided on 5 December 2023 that Professor Irena Hajnsek (nominated by Geosciences) will be awarded an honorary doctorate at UiO in 2024. The honorary doctorate will be created in connection with the University of Oslo's annual celebration on 2 September, with a ceremony in the University Aula and a festive dinner in the evening.

On the occasion of the nomination, a guest lecture with Irena Hajnsek will be organized at the Department of Geosciences on 2 September. The lecture have title:

Polarimetric and Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar for 3D Applications

Time: Mondag 2. September 2024 at 14:30-15:30.

Place: The Geology Building, Aud 1, Sem Sælands vei 1, Blindern (map)

UiO's honorary doctoral degrees

Honorary doctoral degrees of University of Oslo (Doctor Honoris Causa) are given to prominent academics. The degrees are awarded without a thesis defence/disputation.

UiO has been entitled to appoint honorary doctorates since 1824, and appointments usually occur every three years. The honorary doctors are conferred at UiO's Annual Celebration on 2 September.
