Uppsala University has now appointed professor and glaciologist Regine Hock at the Department of Geosciences, University of Oslo to honorary doctorate at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Uppsala University. Hock has previously been a visiting professor at the Uppsala University, Department of Earth Sciences. Hock came to the University of Oslo in 2020 from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks (UAF).
Hock is one of nine new honorary doctors who were appointed in October 2022. It is the faculties at Uppsala University that appoint honorary doctors. Read the full news story and the justification for the award of the honorary doctorate on the University of Uppsala's website (in Swedish):

The award ceremony itself took place in the University House Aula at Uppsala University, with a subsequent banquet at Uppsala Castle, on Friday 27 January 2023.
