Award for best paper

In November, the third SMPR 2015 Conference on Sensors and Models in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing took place at the University of Tehran, Kish Island, Hormozgan in Iran. This conference brings together a number of researchers in the field of satellite data and remote observation of the world and from Iran, and this year there were 74 oral presentations.

One of the participants at this year's conference was Luc Girod from the Department of Geosciences.

Girod participated with an article on: "Improvement of DEM generation from ASTER images overusing satellite jitter estimation and opensource Implementation". For this work he was awarded the prize for best article on the conference.

Girod is PhD in the field geomatics, and specializing in photogrammetry. He is affiliated to the Section of Physical Geography and Hydrology, Department of Geosciences. He is associated to the ERC research project Icemass

About SMPR

The conference is for researchers working on remote observation and satellite data, modelling of geoinformation and environmental monitoring. The conference is organized by the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, University of Tehran, UNESCO, GFZ Potsdam, and DLR among others.

Congratulations!
