Success for the 1st Geoeducation-session at NGWM - 2020

The 34. Nordic Geological Winter Meeting (NGWM20) was held 8-10. January 2020 at University of Oslo. For the first time this big meeting had a session dedicated for "Geoeducation" on the programme. With over 50 participants the session was well visited. Here are some photos.

For first time "Geoeduation" had a session all of it’s own at the Nordic Geological Winter Meeting.

The Geoeducation-session was arranged on the last day Friday 10th of January of the conference, and had 9 presentations from researchers, teachers and scientist involved in teaching activities in geosciences. In addition there were 3 poster contributions about "Gescience education" presented in the poster hall.

And the new session attracted the conference audience: Anders Mattias Lundmark who was in the chair for the session could address over 50 attendants for most of the presentations during the day.

Konferansen hadde en stor og innholdsrik posterpresentasjon i underetasjen i UB, Georg Sverdrups hus. Mange hadde poster, her professor Henning Dypvik som presenterer posteren; Sedimentological and palynological investigations of the Neoproterozoic Valdres Group, til kollega Valerie Maupin, Institutt for geofag. Posteren viser en trachyhystrichosphaera som levde en gang for 700 mill år siden i et elverikt landskap ved kysten, nå gjenfunnet på Rundemellen i Valdres -
