Khoirrashif Pratikna: New as Doctoral Research fellow / starts up in October 2021

PhD candidate working under Prof. Nazmul Haque Mondol with main research about reservoir characterization studies using Machine Learning for the CO2 storage application. Pratikna finished his Master's at the University of Stavanger, and after that moved to Oslo. He will stat up at the department early in October.

Abhisek Basa: New as Researcher / starts up in November 2021

Structural Geologist with a research background in investigating evolution of fracture-systems associated with progressive deformation in fold-thrust belts and characterization of scale-effects on fracture clustering. Current research is focused on refining existing kinematic and mechanical models of fault initiation, growth and arrest which will aid in comprehensive understanding of incremental deformation of fault and its associated damage zone during faulting process in various tectonic settings. Prof. Anita Torabi is the supervisor for this PhD.

Rikke Bruhn: New as Researcher / Coordinating CCS UiO GEO, starts up in September 2021

Clastic sedimentologist by training, with a Ph.D. from the University of Copenhagen and subsequently 18 years of experience with oil and gas exploration in Norway. Interested in basin-scale understanding of sedimentary systems, source to sink concepts, and exploring the links between provenance, facies and diagenesis styles. Rikke is enthusiastic about the green revolution and look forward to contributing to the development of CCS, in collaboration with her collegues at UiO.

Nora Holden: New as Doctoral Research Fellow/PhD, started in August 2021

Structural geologist with focus on seismic studies of fault geometry and characteristics, fault modelling, and across-fault seal assessment. Current research includes structural characterization and de-risking of potential CO2 storage sites in the Horda Platform, northern North Sea, as part of the Norwegian CCS Research Centre (NCCS).
