Seminar by Bo Cao, GeoHyd/The Department of Geosciences, UiO:
The different characteristics of two surge glaciers in the inner Tibetan Plateau
Abstract:
Glacier surge is a special form of glacier displacement caused by the instability of the glacial dynamic system. The glacier surging may affect the estimation of the overall change of glaciers in the region and potentially threatens the infrastructure and human life in the downstream regions. It is a quasi-periodic oscillation behavior, but the period and the surging characteristic may change during climate change or other external events. In this talk, I will go to give evidence for two changes in the characteristic of the glacier surging in the inner Tibetan Plateau by multi-source remote sensing data.
The talk is in Aud 2 in the Geology Building. It is also possible to follow at Zoom.
Video link to the lecture will be sent to the mailing lists alle@geo and geohyd-info@geo. If you want to subscribe to the geohyd-info@geo list send an email to Anita.
