Cancelled! GEOHYD Lunch Seminar: TBC / Global-scale hydrological response to future glacier mass loss

Welcome to our GEOHYD Lunch Seminar Friday 20th of March @ 12:15 in Aud 2, The Geology building. The seminar is helt by Matthias Huss, ETH Zurich.

Seminar by Matthias Huss, Professor of Glaciology, Department of Earth Sciences,  ETH Zurich

To be confirmed / "Global-scale hydrological response to future glacier mass loss"

Abstract:

Glaciers are an important element of the hydrological regime. Their anticipated retreat over the next decade will, however, entail substantial changes in water yield in some basins. In a large-scale perspective, model results for the future changes in water runoff from in all major glacierized basins worldwide will be given, with a focus on the timing of Peak water from glaciers, seasonal changes and the impact on actual water availability in large streams.

About the seminar:

This seminar is offered by the Section for Geography and Hydrology, Dept. of Geosciences, University of Oslo. The GEOHYD-seminars are announced as lunch seminars so bring your lunch if you want to.

The seminars are open for everyone interested, and especially students are welcome.
