GEOHYD Lunch Seminar: Two-way interactions between climate variability and terrestrial ecosystem

Welcome to our GEOHYD Lunch Seminar Friday 31th of January @ 12:15 in Aud 2, The Geology building. The seminar is helt by Jin-Soo Kim, University of Edinburgh.

Seminar by Jin-Soo Kim, Post-Doc, School of GeoSciences, University of Edinburgh.

"Two-way interactions between climate variability and terrestrial ecosystem"

Abstract:

Terrestrial carbon uptake, which has a strong interannual variability, is the most uncertain part in the contemporary carbon cycle and carbon-climate feedback. In order to understand interannual variation of the terrestrial carbon cycle, ENSO- and Arctic warming-related carbon cycle is studied. Also, as a part of the impact of the land surface on the climate system, the role of stomatal conductance in the Arctic climate system is conducted.

Jin-Soo Kim is a post-doc researcher at the University of Edinburg and currently visiting METOS. His current research is on fire risk mapping over the pan-tropics.
