Open session: What does the Paris Agreement mean for future research into Climate Engineering?

There will be an open session seminar entitled "What does the Paris Agreement mean for future research into Climate Engineering?" in CIENS Forum on Wednesday 22 June. 

The seminar is provided by the research project EXPECT.

The session programme consist of invited speakers from Europe and North America, addressing various aspects of Climate Engineering.

On the programme there are several talks covering a broad range of aspects of Climate Engineering. Starting with the physical climate system, and then moving to ethical, governance and economics considerations. There will be time for discussions and interactions between the speakers and the audience.

The session will be from 13:00 to 16:40, followed by refreshments.

About EXPECT

The main objective of the research project Exploring the Potential and Side Effects of Climate Engineering (EXPECT) is to explore - through climate model simulations - the potential, as well as side effects, of proposed climate engineering techniques. The project is funded by the Norwegian Research Council.
