Aerosol-cloud-climate interactions: I study the microphysical properties of aerosols and how they affect their ability to act as CCN and IN, using in-situ and remote sensing observations and models. This is followed by the study of the response of cloud properties and radiative forcing to aerosols, leading to the study of the impact of aerosols on climate. In particular, I focus on the interactions between aerosols and low-level clouds, as well as mixed-phase clouds.

Atmospheric chemistry: I use in-situ observations from the ground and aircraft to study the properties of aerosols, including their chemical composition, hygroscopicity, formation of new particles, secondary organic aerosols, and the optical properties of aerosols. Special emphasis is placed on the physical and chemical properties of aerosols produced by burning biomass.

Climate sensitivity: I'm currently working on the construction of emergent constraints from observations on the transient climate response and the equilibrium climate sensitivity using CMIP6 data. The main focus is on the climate sensitivity to mixed-phase clouds, particularly the cloud phase.
