Academic interests

Jaganmoy is interested in the evolution of Archaean greenstone belts, early crustal processes, biogeochemical cycles through time, habitable conditions related to microorganisms on the young Earth and evolutionary processes of the earliest cellular life. His research relates to understanding of early Earth surface conditions from the Archaean rock record of the Singhbhum, Kaapvaal and Pilbara cratons respectively. He aims to investigate some of the oldest, well-preserved volcano-sedimentary rocks through a holistic approach that includes petrological, geochronological, geochemical, geobiological, and radiogenic-stable isotope studies.
