Current Research

I am a PhD Research Fellow in Arctic Geology and Geophysics enrolled within DYPOLE (Dynamics of polar confined basins). The main goal of the project is to obtain an understanding of the interplay between the various tectonic, magmatic, and sedimentary processes that have shaped the northern Barents Sea/Svalbard margin, caused continental breakup and controlled the variation in spatial and temporal oceanic accretion in the Eurasia Basin. Moreover, we aim to establish links between the tectono-magmatic history of the Cenozoic northern Barents Sea/Svalbard - Arctic and oceanographic and climatic changes.

Background

  • 2022 - present: PhD Research Fellow @UiO in geology and geophysics.
  • 2018 - 2020: Master in Petroleum Geoscience from the Universitetet i Oslo (UiO, Norway).
  • 2013 - 2017: Bachelor in Geosciences from the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia).

Interests

  • Evolution and development of conjugate sedimentary basins.
  • Marine Geosciences.
  • Subsurface energy exploration and utilization.

Positions held

  • PhD Research Fellow @CEED
