The EarthFlows Meeting will bring together top researchers from various disciplines (geoscience, mathematics, material science, theoretical and experimental physics), who have different perspectives on interface dynamics, flows and deformations in complex systems. The seminar will be an excellent opportunity to share and develop new ideas across fields.
The goal for the EarthFlows research strategic initiative is to promote cross-disciplinary research on complex matter, interfacial processes and tipping point phenomena with important geophysical relevance. Some of the basic phenomena that we focus on include friction and failure in rocks and ice, complex deformations, fluid-rock interactions, turbulent transport.
